Year of the PIG

The Year of the Pig was an art show created in response to the outcome of the Airport Arts Program Selection Process by the City of Santa Monica, organized by Cultural Affairs Shanon Daut that resulted in the loss of an arts community and artist business of the Santa Monica Art Studios that had a 30 year history of growing a significant art culture in Santa Monica. The selection process was found to be unjust by many of the artists and community as well as the dishonorable action to remove the founder who had created and developed a flourishing cultural art organization that contributed greatly to the Santa Monica art community.
